With over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher and a certified Brain Gym Movement Facilitator, Megan Gruner launched Natural Path Arts & Learning early in 2024. Her business is built on the intersection of education and creative therapy, offering two primary services:
First, Megan provides multi-sensory educational support for elementary school-aged children, focusing on connecting the body and the brain to optimize learning. She specializes in helping children with dyslexia and other learning challenges through movement-based tutoring that stimulates neural pathways, calms the nervous system and fosters academic readiness. Her holistic approach is rooted in the belief that discovering and addressing the underlying issues that affect learning challenges and classroom behaviour is a vital aspect of educational support.
Second, Megan offers 1-on-1 and small group pottery lessons to individuals of all ages. These lessons extend beyond artistic skill development, serving as a therapeutic outlet that promotes sensory integration, mindfulness, and stress relief. For children struggling with anxiety or being in a classroom setting, pottery becomes a tool for regulating their nervous system, building neural pathways and developing focus and attention skills. Additionally, she runs recreational pottery classes and workshops for those simply seeking a creative and enjoyable activity.

Megan discovered the Business Centre of Guelph-Wellington through a referral from friends who had participated in the Starter Company+ Program. Intrigued by their recommendation, she reached out to learn more and eventually applied.
The Starter Company+ Program has been instrumental in Megan's entrepreneurial journey. She highlights the sense of community and support she’s experienced by connecting with fellow entrepreneurs. "Running a business can often feel lonely, especially when there is so much information to absorb as a new business owner," Megan shares. "Knowing that I have a network of people who are there to support me makes it feel less overwhelming."
The program's in-person component proved invaluable, enabling Megan to engage in spontaneous problem-solving discussions with peers. Additionally, it helped her navigate challenges such as social media marketing and clarified the importance of community building for business growth.
Megan’s journey as a small business owner reflects her dedication to continuous growth and adaptability. One of her key takeaways from the program has been the importance of aligning her business with her life's mission. "Running a business is not just about making money; it’s about bringing your soul’s purpose to the world," she says.
Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, Megan emphasizes the value of flexibility and clarity. "When I first started, I held on too tightly to certain ideas. Over time, I’ve learned it’s okay to pivot and refine what I’m offering. Being clear on what aligns with my mission and values has helped me focus my energy and say no to opportunities that don’t fit."
